These four houses are examples of rural mountain living. They are nestled in the North Carolina Mountains near Boone. The view around these houses is simply breath taking. It's sad to see these once functional homes go to back to dust. I can imagine the sounds that the tin roof made in the rain at night, soothing you to sleep. Rocking on the porch in the cool mountain air. There is a saying "If these walls could talk" ... I wonder the stories of the families that they would hold. The joys, the sorrows, the accomplishments.....
